British artist Ian Tyson: “The images refer to Chinese poet Li He’s reputed method of composition—walking with a bag full of paper pieces which he would pull out when the idea for a phrase hit him and write it. When he returned home in the evening he would assemble them into a poem. Seems like a good way of working to me! He was nicknamed the Ghost and died at the age of twenty-seven in AD 817.”
